The Robothon program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through Robotic experiences.

At Robothon events, a screening of Robo prototype or a combination of live presentation and prototype sparks deep conversation and connections at the institution or Maker space.

Robothon is a Global Robotics Hackathon which will be held in 5 cities across the country, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Mumbai a month prior to Robofest(11 – 13, March 2016) which will be conducted on 19th -20th, February, 2016.

Number of Teams -14 (Only 14 teams are allowed to participate in each Robothon, First come First serve basis) Each Team is limited to maximum of 5 members. 10 different Real time problem statements from 10 domains (e.g: Agriculture, Defence, Logistics etc) are given, 15days prior to the Robothon. The participants or each team should choose a problem statement from the mentioned list and should be ready with the inventory and technology needed for it before Robothon.

On the day of Robothon each team will be given 48 hrs to develop the prototype. The evaluation of the teams will be done in 2 stages .

STAGE 1: All the prototype’s developed in the Robothan will be evaluated by the concerned Jury at each city. And top 5 teams from each Robothon are selected and then sent to next stage.

STAGE 2: The top 5 teams from each Robothon will be sent to final jury, the final jury consists of professionals from different disciplines. They will screen the prototype and award points in the respective fields (Design, Mechanism, Electronics, Coding and Product feasibility) and accumulation of all this will be considered as final grading and winners are declared.

From every City, the team with highest points will be considered as the winner, the next as runner up and one best performance team(Team which works with full dedication and passion) will be selected. The winner team will get a chance to showcase their product at India’s First Robotics Fest RoboFest, and the team will be given the complete support to convert their prototype in to product. Final Results will be announced on 21st, Febraury 2016.

NOTE: The winner team has to complete the prototype to product before Robofest, only then the team will be given a chance to exhibit their product in Robofest. The next two teams will be given complete support to make their prototypes in to products.
